Feature Story

We mark the two hundredth anniversary of Saint Julie’s death in Namur, Belgium on April 8, 2016. It is an interesting idea—commemorating her death since one of the unique things about Julie is how alive and present she is for so many people.

The ministries Saint Julie inspired can be found all over the world just as she envisioned since the early days of founding the Congregation.

For this occasion, we asked Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur from different regions in the United States to share something about Saint Julie and to do this in a few sentences.

Pondering the richness of Julie’s life, selecting one idea and sharing it in a few words must have been a challenge. Thank you, Sisters, for responding so graciously to this request. You offer us much to consider as we remember the life, death and living legacy of Saint Julie and Notre Dame.
