Who is a prospective Notre Dame Mission Volunteer AmeriCorps Member?
Recent graduates who are exploring service as a career or who are uncertain about a career path, mid-career people seeking a change and retirees exploring a new path after retirement are all potential candidates.
What are the benefits of becoming an NDMVA Member?
The financial benefits of becoming an NDMVA member include a living allowance and an education award. Benefits are listed on the Notre Dame AmeriCorps website: www.ndmva.org.
Intangible benefits include exploring an interest in teaching in an environment that is collegial and supportive, serving close to home or in another part of the country, meeting people from a variety of backgrounds and becoming a member of the Notre Dame network and the AmeriCorps network.
What can Sisters, Associates, colleagues and friends do to support the annual recruitment process?
Word of mouth is an important part of the recruitment process. Once individuals join NDMVA, they have the chance to expand education in “the most abandoned places” across the US, while experiencing transformation within themselves. However, we must first invite them. More information can be found at www.ndmva.org.
