Family, friends and Sisters attended the noontime dinner which was catered by Salute Italian restaurant. The banquet consisted of delicacies created with shrimp, chicken, and ground beef and served with various pastas, vegetables and salads. The meal was topped off by a large marble sheet cake decorated with white and yellow frosting.
Following the meal guests stood to tell stories of their time with Vickie and to thank her for her years of service. The many testimonies gave witness to her engaging personality, ubiquitous smile, willingness to help with anything and everything, and her commitment to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. So great was this commitment that she became an Associate as she deepened her understanding of our mission.
Vickie then thanked everyone who had created “family” for her. Not only were two of her six brothers and her sister in attendance but many others who have become family along the way. Vickie promised that after her Mediterranean cruise she will still be nearby to help if needed.
