February 12th marked the fifteenth anniversary of Sister Dorothy Stang’s murder in Brazil. Numerous celebrations of Sister Dorothy’s life began in February and will continue throughout the year as her legacy endures in us.
President’s Day weekend drew twenty-five Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur to Maryland for the annual meeting of the Notre Dame Mission Volunteers/AmeriCorps. Sisters gave keynote presentations and workshops in addition to interacting with the members informally during their weekend together.
In late February, the Los Angeles Religious Education Conference drew thirteen Sisters from across the US to California to be present at a booth celebrating our Sisters and Sister Dorothy Stang, SNDdeN.
