A Cincinnati member reflected on how their entire year was built around being adaptable and creative. They started the year unsure of how to navigate a formal classroom setting and relying on resources and lessons from staff at the site. When the pandemic started and service began to look drastically different, the members leaned more heavily into their flexible and creative side. Virtual tutoring, calls to students’ homes, and zoom book clubs helped everyone continue to feel connected and inspired. As she said, “not even a pandemic could stop us from figuring out how to get things done!” Such commitment from the members to serve their communities was impressive to witness, and the boost needed to welcome new teams of members across the country.
As members begin their service, we ask you to hold them in prayer for their continued health and safety, perseverance, and sparks of hope. If you know someone who may be interested in serving with NDMV, please send them to www.ndmva.org for more information!
