Connection is imperative for our emotional and mental health. This, of course, is difficult, if not impossible for some, during a pandemic. So, how can we find ways to connect? Phone calls and video calls are always good. Sometimes just seeing someone’s face on the screen can lift the spirits.
Physical health is also an important component. There is a chance of gaining the “Quarantine 15” or losing weight due to stress. That is why eating right is so important. When we fuel our body properly and take time to move and exercise, we are helping not only our physical health, but our mental health as well.
In addition to taking time for prayer, connecting with people by phone or email or Zoom, exercising and paying attention to nutrition, it is possible to do something concrete to address one or two issues that are important to you. Putting all of these things together will help us be strong so that we can continue our justice and peace mission for the long run.
